Los Angeles Airport (LAX)

There is plenty to see and do in Tirana. Take a walk over to the National History Museum, covering 27,000 sq. meters and offering a fascinating insight into Albania’s history, and the National Arts Gallery, showing Albanian Art which started in 1946. We also recommend the Grand Park of Tirana, home to a zoo, beautiful gardens and a picturesque and calming lake. The nightlife doesn’t disappoint either, and pre-covid times the bloc was the place to go for a good night out. There are still plenty of fantastic restaurants to visit and you can enjoy a nice buzz in the city in the evening, so why not rent a car and enjoy at your leisure.

Tips for renting at Los Angeles Airport (LAX)

Before you rent:

Make an informed choice. We believe in providing you with options to choose the right car for your needs with complete price transparency. At U-Save, we prioritize your peace of mind, which means rental insurance with us is not overly complicated and you are assured you are properly insured.

When you collect your Vehicle:

Think ahead. It's a good idea to map out your trip in advance, especially if you're returning the rental car to an unfamiliar location or airport. Check your confirmation email to make sure you know where to meet your agent or where the rental desk, and save the contact details to your phone for quick access.

Bring the necessary documents. While we strive to make the check-in process as simple as possible, some information is required by law. Having your reservation information, driver's license, passport and credit card ready in advance can speed up your reservation process. If you choose to self-insure, make sure that you have verifiable proof of full coverage insurance at the time of rental pickup. If you are a local renter, make sure that you have all the information required by the location to confirm your ID and address.

Conduct a car inspection. Perform a detailed walk around inspection as soon as the vehicle is received to note any existing damage on the rental agreement. The five damage hotspots that we've discovered deserve special attention. You are shielded from responsibility when you return the vehicle by disclosing any existing damage prior to leaving the location.

While you rent:

Take care. Please be advised that depending on the rental coverage you chose, you could be responsible for any damage that occurs during the rental period. Take measures to reduce the possibility of collisions leading to dings and scratches, especially in congested parking areas.

When you return your vehicle:

Complete one more vehicle inspection. Conduct a second inspection during the return procedure, and no matter how little it may look, carefully record any damage. This approach enables us to handle your refund quickly while making sure you are completely insured. The five damage hotspots should receive special attention, just as they did during the initial assessment.

Driving in Fort Lauderdale & South Florida – Rules, Conditions & Tips

Driving in Fort Lauderdale is generally straightforward and essential for getting around. The city has a grid-like layout, and major highways such as I-95, I-595, and US-1 provide fast north-south and east-west access. However, traffic can be heavy during rush hours and near beach areas, so planning around peak times (7–9 AM and 4–6 PM) is advised.

Vehicles drive on the right-hand side, and traffic signs are in English. Roads are wide, well-marked, and equipped with traffic lights at nearly every intersection. Be cautious of sudden lane changes and speeding — Florida drivers can be aggressive.

Speed limits in urban areas are usually:

25–30 mph (40–48 km/h) in neighborhoods

45 mph (72 km/h) on major city roads

65–70 mph (104–112 km/h) on interstates and expressways

Most Florida highways are free, but some like Florida’s Turnpike are toll roads. Many use electronic toll systems (SunPass) — check with your rental provider to see if your vehicle is equipped. Otherwise, you may be billed later through PlatePass or a similar service.

Right turns on red are allowed after a full stop, unless otherwise posted. Always yield to pedestrians at crosswalks.

Parking in Fort Lauderdale is mostly metered or paid through smartphone apps like PayByPhone. Garage parking is common near the beach, Las Olas Boulevard, and shopping centers.

Seatbelts are mandatory for all passengers. Using a mobile phone while driving is legal with hands-free only. DUI laws are strict, and Florida enforces a legal blood alcohol limit of 0.08%.

Fuel stations are plentiful and accept credit cards. Gas prices in Florida are generally lower than the U.S. average.
